I dedicate this blog to volcanoes and lovely volcanic landscapes. I am not a geologist/volcanologist, just a person who enjoys beautifully rough and majestic volcanic scenery. The feeling of being in such an unpredictable and often dangerous area is certainly distinct and unforgettable. All photos by Bart.K

Colorful Lakes near Wiesciszowice, Poland
Not exactly volcanic landscape (the lakes are remains of XVIII-th century pyrite mines called "Hope", "New Luck" and "Gustav Grube"), but this is a very special place in Poland. They lie on the northern slope of Wielka Kopa mountain (871 m). Yellow Pond (the youngest lake). Purple Lake (the largest one with high saturation of copper and iron, dark red color of water). Azure Lake (light blue color of water). Green Pond (Black Lake, the smallest one, during dry weather often disappears completely).

Red Beach on Akrotiri Peninsula, Santorini
Remains of cinder cone - spell-binding panorama of red. This is actually my last post on this blog. I will return to post here sometime when I get a chance to see more volcanoes/volcanic landscapes. Hopefully I will see Etna, Stromboli and Vulcano soon (or perhpas some other volcanoes on different continents). Until then enjoy the photos my fellow traveller/volcanophile. Bart K.
