I dedicate this blog to volcanoes and lovely volcanic landscapes. I am not a geologist/volcanologist, just a person who enjoys beautifully rough and majestic volcanic scenery. The feeling of being in such an unpredictable and often dangerous area is certainly distinct and unforgettable. All photos by Bart.K

Crooked Forest of Gryfino, Poland, 28th September 2015
Crooked Forest of Gryfino is a very peculiar little place in Poland. Of course it has nothing to do with volcanoes, but I would like to recommend this unusual forest for any adventurous explorer. It has about 100-200 pine trees that grow with a 90 degree bend at the base of their trunks, before rising vertically again. The trunks are curved and all bent towards the same direction – northward. Why? It's still a mystery. Some theories are explained at Atlas Obscura.

Thinking about my next volcanic trip. I want to visit new volcanoes so badly!
