I dedicate this blog to volcanoes and lovely volcanic landscapes. I am not a geologist/volcanologist, just a person who enjoys beautifully rough and majestic volcanic scenery. The feeling of being in such an unpredictable and often dangerous area is certainly distinct and unforgettable. All photos by Bart.K

Sólheimajökull glacier tongue, Iceland
Vastly popular destination for glacier walk enthusiasts. Sólheimajökull glacier tongue lies east from Eyjafjallajökull volcano. Majestic and unfortunately slowly disappearing giant. Not exactly volcanic landscape, but who cares. The canyon on the last photo surely looks mysterious.
Eyjafjallajökull glacier/volcano, Iceland
Famous March/April 2010 eruption. Extensive air travel disruption in Europe. Hundreds of flights cancelled. The total loss for the airline industry was around US$ 1.7 billion. And a lot of problems in media to correctly pronounce Icelandic name of Eyjafjallajökull.
