Olot Volcanic Field: Santa Margarida volcano

Monogenetic volcano Santa Margarida is part of Garrotxa Volcanic Zone National Park. Height of 682 meters, last eruption 11 000-11 500 years ago. Inside its oval crater lies Santa Margarida hermitage, which was destroyed by earthquake in 1428 and rebuilt in 1865. Activity: freatomagmatic and magmatic.
