I dedicate this blog to volcanoes and lovely volcanic landscapes. I am not a geologist/volcanologist, just a person who enjoys beautifully rough and majestic volcanic scenery. The feeling of being in such an unpredictable and often dangerous area is certainly distinct and unforgettable. All photos by Bart.K

The trip to Kameni Chora volcano, Methana, Greece, 25.04.2019
Methana volcano is a complex of 32 lava domes which forms the Methana Peninsula. There are some hot springs on Methana Peninsula including Loutra Methana and Agios Nikolaos and weak fumarolic activity at the beach of Thiafi Bay. Kameni Chora is the site of lava dome eruption around 230 BC. The last unconfirmed eruption in Methana took place in 1922. Take a look at one forested lava dome with open crater. Trip to Kameni Chora volcano by foot from Methana villagle (not by taxi), 25.04.2019.
