I dedicate this blog to volcanoes and lovely volcanic landscapes. I am not a geologist/volcanologist, just a person who enjoys beautifully rough and majestic volcanic scenery. The feeling of being in such an unpredictable and often dangerous area is certainly distinct and unforgettable. All photos by Bart.K

Etna volcano from south, Rifugio Sapienza, Sicily, 9th May 2015
This time Etna volcano from more touristic site - Rifugio Sapienza. I ended up in so-called 'forbidden' zone, but I wanted to go as close to central craters area as I could. Very stunning volcanic landscapes around me including huge lava fields, impressive craters and barren volcanic desert of lapilli and ash. Etna last erupted on 1st February of 2015. I am expecting more eruptive paroxysms this year. But how frequent they will be we can only guess.
