I dedicate this blog to volcanoes and lovely volcanic landscapes. I am not a geologist/volcanologist, just a person who enjoys beautifully rough and majestic volcanic scenery. The feeling of being in such an unpredictable and often dangerous area is certainly distinct and unforgettable. All photos by Bart.K

On the rim of Gran Cratere, Vulcano Island, Italy
The fumaroles in Gran Cratere of La Fossa cone still emit sulphur dioxide. My gas mask become useful. I spent about 40 minutes on the edge of Gran Cratere, Vulcano Island.
