I dedicate this blog to volcanoes and lovely volcanic landscapes. I am not a geologist/volcanologist, just a person who enjoys beautifully rough and majestic volcanic scenery. The feeling of being in such an unpredictable and often dangerous area is certainly distinct and unforgettable. All photos by Bart.K

Etna volcano, various photos from distance, Sicily, May 2015
Here it is: the most famous European stratovolcano and also one of the most frequently erupting. Mount Etna (Mongibello). My plan was to climb Mount Etna to see its four active central craters (New SE Crater, Old SE Crater, Bocca Nuova, Voragine). It didn't really work out, but damn! I was at Etna volcano two times - on 7th and 9th May 2015. And I have tons of photos to prove it. :-) Here are some shots of Etna taken from distance (from plane, Catania, Taormina, etc.) More photos to come soon.
