I dedicate this blog to volcanoes and lovely volcanic landscapes. I am not a geologist/volcanologist, just a person who enjoys beautifully rough and majestic volcanic scenery. The feeling of being in such an unpredictable and often dangerous area is certainly distinct and unforgettable. All photos by Bart.K

Grimsnes, Kerið crater, Reykjanes, Iceland
Crater row of Grimsnes which consists of three well-preserved craters named Kerið, Kerholl and Seyðsholar. Especially Kerið is amazing: oval, 270 m long, 170 m wide and 55 m deep with spell-binding crater lake. It was formed 6000 years ago. Sorry for so many photographs, but this place is one-of-its-kind. Date: 23th April 2014.
